Water services are required throughout the life of oil or natural gas wells and are critical to drilling, completion and production activity. Water is the conduit for all of the activity in oil or natural gas wells and is used to lubricate the drill bit, control pressure in the well and Frac’ rock zones to release trapped reserves. The peak periods of need for Fluid Services are during drilling, Frac’ing and production. The amount of Fluid Services required at a well site during these periods is correlated to the depth of the well.
We deliver fresh water to our customer’s well sites via truck, stores fresh water at the well site in Frac’ tanks and haul away flow-back water that is extracted from the well. The ability to provide reliable and coordinated fluid management services throughout the life cycle of oil or natural gas wells provides a complete range of service in fluid management, a vital element in drill-site management. Our fluid disposal service involves the treatment and forced evaporation of flow-back water that is hauled from a well site to one of the Company’s seven fluid disposal facilities located in the Uinta and Piceance Basins. After the completion of the treatment process, the water flows into holding ponds and is naturally or, conditions permitting, force evaporated by sprinkler systems powered by electric pumps. The capacity of the ponds is replenished as the water evaporates. Each disposal facility is comprised of dedicated treatment tanks or ponds and several holding ponds for water evaporation. Treatment tanks are made of concrete, and all of the holding ponds are lined with a 60mm thick high-density polyethylene protective lining to prevent seepage of the waste water into the soil.

Our Rental Tank service provides for the delivery of Frac’ and flow-back tanks to a well site for fluid storage purposes and the removal of the Rental Tanks at the completion of a job. 400-Bbl tanks are transported on lowboy (or low profile) trailers, while 500- and 600-Bbl tanks have a built-in axle and are trailer mounted.

E&P companies use Rental Tanks to store (i) fluids used in new well drilling and Frac’ing processes and (ii)flow-back fluids extracted from a well during the drilling and production process. A typical Frac’ job requires fifteen to fifty 500-Bbl tanks, with some large jobs requiring up to eighty 500-Bbl tanks.

Dalbo, including RNI’s Rental Tank fleet, is the largest Rental Tank service provider in the Uinta and Piceance Basins with a fleet of 2,066 Rental Tanks,12 while Dawn is the largest Rental Tank provider in the San Juan Basin with a fleet of 495 Rental Tanks. BHS is the market leading Rental Tank provider in the Wind River Basin of Wyoming with 199 Rental Tanks.
DHI’s Heavy Hauling service utilizes highly customized 18-wheel and 20-wheel trucks to move heavy
equipment – extremely large, heavy and awkwardly shaped loads, which include drilling rig components, pipe, compressors, pump jacks and production tanks. Our customers rely on our Heavy Hauling capabilities to move heavy equipment to a new well site. Repositioning heavy equipment is a critical and nondiscretionary aspect of executing a drilling program. The timeliness and efficiency of a Heavy Hauling service are critical, with unnecessary and unplanned downtime resulting in costly production delays for our customers. We also provides Heavy Hauling services for earthmoving equipment (trenchers),other drilling-related equipment and compressors.
Through our acquisition of Dawn Trucking, the Company acquired a fleet of 54 heavy
hauling trucks and 16 tandem trucks to haul heavy equipment. Dawn is the recognized leader for Heavy Hauling services in the San Juan Basin, and the Company has begun to leverage Dawn’s equipment and operating expertise to expand its Heavy Hauling service offerings into the Uinta, Piceance and Wind River Basins. In 2008, the Company acquired Dillon Crane which added heavy lift capabilities to the Company’s Heavy Hauling business through the addition of four cranes and a variety of support vehicles. Heavy lift capabilities are a critical component to many heavy haul jobs and this acquisition will further build the Company’s reputation as a full-service heavy haul provider in the San Juan and Piceance Basins and points beyond. The Company’s fleet of heavy hauling trucks is comprised of 89 heavy hauling trucks (including winch trucks) trucks and 15 tandems.

Crane rental services are used to assemble and disassemble the drilling rig and its component parts at drilling sites and load equipment onto the beds of heavy hauling trucks. The Company’s Heavy Hauling and crane rental service provides a sequenced transportation and drilling rig assembly/disassembly solution by offering one of the largest fleets of custom-fitted Heavy Hauling trucks (along with a fleet of four rental cranes) that have the required power winch and chassis strength, towing capacity and oversized load permitting to transport heavy equipment including drilling rigs and other earthmoving equipment. Many of the Company’s rig-up trucks are assigned to a particular field and provide Heavy Hauling services each time that a drilling rig is moved within the field as part of a customer’s drilling program. The size ofours fleet andour experience in coordinating the logistics for an E&P company’s drilling program allow the Company to move rigs faster than its competitors, generating significant savings for our clients.

RNI - Dalbo’s construction unit, Nile Chapman Construction, oversees grading of drilling pads and access roads to the well site, distributing gravel to provide surface stability for the drilling activities taking place on the pad and excavating the reserve pit used to temporarily store water used in the drilling process. We offer construction-related earth moving services for E&P companies (drilling site preparation and road work), municipal and state governments (road work) and commercial customers (earthmoving). We operate, crush and utilize our own gravel for use in surfacing roads, constructing sites and oil or natural gas drilling pads.We have a HAZWOPER team for environmental clean-ups. Other related services include Contract Pumpers, Roust-about services, Concrete structure erection, Hydro-seeding, Underground work (utilites, trenching), Welding and HDPE pond lining services.
